　　金融工程碩士名稱上可以叫做:Financial Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Quantitative Finance或者Computational Finance等。不過所學習課程和培養(yǎng)的方向基本相同，下面，我們統(tǒng)稱為金融工程。

　　由于金融工程的課程橫跨了金融經(jīng)濟，數(shù)學，工程幾個方面的知識，通常由大學的商學院、數(shù)學系和工程學院聯(lián)合授課。目的在于解決實際中的問題，金融工程開設的program絕大部分為應用型的碩士學制。應用型預示著它的課程以授課形式為主，倡導學生實踐，時間在一到兩年。

　　金融與金融工程區(qū)別

　　金融工程是高級的金融理論和知識，因此金融工程隸屬于金融學。

　　從培養(yǎng)的目的來看

　　金融學碩士著重培養(yǎng)具有處理銀行、證券、投資等方面業(yè)務的基本能力;熟悉國家有關(guān)金融的方針政策和法規(guī)，了解本學科的理論前沿和發(fā)展動態(tài)的管理人員。而金融工程則培養(yǎng)具有數(shù)學，計算機和現(xiàn)代金融理論的技術(shù)人才。

　　從學習的對象來看

　　金融學更多的是以基礎(chǔ)變量如利率\匯率\貨幣供應為學習對象，而金融工程主要依賴金融衍生工具,比如期貨期權(quán)\遠期\互換等等。

　　就業(yè)方向

　　金融工程碩士主要在投資銀行工作，另外商業(yè)銀行、基金公司、保險公司、會計公司、軟件公司、公司財務部門也是金融工程碩士謀職的地方?，F(xiàn)在越來越多的政府管理部門(如財政部門)、能源公司(項目評估、項目分析)也參與到了爭奪金融工程碩士的行列中。

　　金融工程申請要求

　　1、專業(yè)背景及先修課要求

　　專業(yè)背景有較為明確的要求:數(shù)學、統(tǒng)計學、CS、物理、工程、科學是最普遍的專業(yè)背景要求，除此之后不少學校也接受金融、經(jīng)濟學、精算學、生物、化學和會計分析專業(yè)背景，但有個別學校不接受會計專業(yè)背景的申請者，如曼大的MSc Quantitative Finance: Risk Management和MSc Quantitative Finance: Financial Engineering。

　　先修課要求:最常見的有微積分、線性代數(shù)、概率論、概率統(tǒng)計、常/偏微積分方程、矩陣代數(shù)、數(shù)量統(tǒng)計等。個別學校還要求學生有良好的算法、編程、C++、JAVA、Matlab基礎(chǔ)和計算機分析能力，如UCL的MS Financial Risk Management。

　　所以，大家在判斷自身是否能夠申請金融工程，或者判斷申請成功率時，以往修過的數(shù)理課程和計算機課程的數(shù)量是一個非常重要的參考標準。

　　2、GMAT/GRE

　　美國要求提交GMAT/GRE;英國和香港的學校金工專業(yè)基本上都不要求GMAT/GRE成績，但個別學校會建議;新加坡地區(qū)，除了國立大學的Quantitative Finance 項目外，其他要求提供GMAT/GRE成績。

　　一般情況下，建議考取GRE，并以320+為目標。

　　3、語言成績

　　英、港、新三個地區(qū)的學校建議考取雅思成績，美加地區(qū)建議考取托福成績，另外，香港方面需要注意的是，港理工和城大還接受大學英語六級成績。

　　雅思以7.0+，托福以100+為目標。

　　4、GPA

　　GPA是一個非常重要的指標，特別是英國地區(qū)，基本上，除了個別Times排名靠前的院校外，211和985院校的學生的GPA要不低于80%，非211非985的院校的學生的GPA要不低于85%。Times排名較后的學校GPA要求稍微放寬，但總的來說GPA越高越好。

　　其他地區(qū)一般以3.0/80為最低要求。當然，也有個別低于3.0的也能拿到錄取，這就要靠其他方面來彌補。

　　GPA最低3.0/80，越高越好。

　　5、實習工作經(jīng)驗要求

　　絕大多數(shù)學校不要求應屆生有相關(guān)工作經(jīng)驗，但如果有相關(guān)工作經(jīng)驗則能為你的申請加分。
